TITLE: Regulatory and Compliance Supervisor



POSITION OBJECTIVE: Supervise and direct the Regulatory and Compliance programs designed to ensure continuous production of reclosable plastic bags consistent with company and customer regulatory standards and requirements. Supervise and direct the training program. Oversee plant wide adherence to Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) standards, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Code, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HAACP) methodology, Customs Trade-Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Social Compliance and Environmental Compliance Program, and other regulatory requirements.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • College degree or 5+ years equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a quality system in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Experience in Technical writing skills (SOP's, Work Instructions, Specifications, Customer Regulatory Compliance), preferred.
  • Ability to understand and apply systematic critical thinking skills such as FMEA, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience working with GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001, Safety, Health, and Environment, and GMP processes.
  • Experience working with SMETA, Social and Environmental Regulatory Compliance audits preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Quality Supervisee Systems (processes, terminology), preferred.
  • Understand external audit requirements and supervise external audits from customers (2nd or 3rd party) or certification bodies.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Suite) Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI etc.) and Project management (Monday.com etc.), and computer-based training software
  • Preferred knowledge of SQA standards, monthly internal inspections, and scheduling of annual inspections.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, completing projects efficiently and accurately, with minimal supervision, showcasing strong self-direction and time management/organizational skills.
  • Consistently takes initiative, self-reliant and team player.
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings.
  • Ability to train groups of people.
  • Ability to make recommendations based on company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interaction.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Supervise the SQF and Customer Required/specific Regulatory program; drive the completion of objectives stated in the Food Safety & Food Quality Codes.
  • Function as SQF Practitioner; ensure alternate SQF Practitioner is available through training & preparedness.
  • Work with all functional areas to implement and maintain a quality system that meets or exceeds customer requirements.
  • Along with Manager, implement cost-reduction programs and Supervise cost, as related to quality assurance.
  • Along with Manager, Supervise, coordinate, and participate in internal audits as required by the Annual QA Plan.
  • Supervise Regulatory/Documentation Control staff.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and participate in monthly and annual training and safety according to company policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on knowledge of SQA standards, monthly internal inspections, and scheduling of annual inspections.
  • Follow through on correcting plant deficiencies found during audits.
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings.
  • Supervise SQF Coordinator and provide oversight and coordinate plant-wide adherence to housekeeping standards, GMP, and customer initiated quality assurance standards.
  • Understand and enforce International Regulatory Compliance issues relating to transport of raw material or finished goods.
  • Understand and enforce Food and Drug Administration regulations relating to transport of raw material or finished goods.
  • Actively participate in the approval of new processes, products, and equipment and the development of new or revised quality specifications and procedures for these changes according to customer requirements.
  • Implement and understand customer's (2nd party) and external audit requirements.
  • Adhere to and understand the CTPAT and its application to the business.
  • Adhere to and understand the HACCP and its application to the business.
  • Implement, train others, and facilitate the application of the SQF code elements.
  • Communicate and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Along with the Manager, supervise, hire, counseling, discipline, training, safety, and termination of positions under his/her authority according to company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for overseeing/supervising and coordinating plant wide adherence to housekeeping standards, GMP, and customer-initiated quality assurance standards. This includes keeping current SQA standards, monthly internal inspections, scheduling of annual inspections, follow-through on correcting plant deficiencies found in the audit, and annual employee GMP training.
  • Along with the Manager, we maintain a training and quality database.
  • Resolve quality issues with customers and production.
  • Adhere to and enforce Inteplast Statement of Principles of Conduct and Harassment policy and all other company policies.
  • Manage and supervise the Regulatory, Environmental, and social compliance audits as required by customers such as HIGGS, CDP, SMETA, additional audits as required by customers. Maintain Quality and Social Compliance online platforms and monitor the entries for regulatory compliance. Monitor compliance with our Global partners.
  • Follow through on correcting plant deficiencies found during audits.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Manager.
