Senior Accountant - Menlo Park, CA / Dublin, CA

We're seeking a strong Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a highly motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment and brings a combination of technical accounting expertise, operational excellence, and a passion for process transformation and innovation.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting core accounting operations, such as lease accounting under ASC 842, M&A and integration activities, and strategic finance initiatives focused on automation and AI-driven efficiencies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and excited to help scale accounting processes within a world-class cloud software company.

Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies while maintaining strong internal controls and audit readiness

  • Manage lease accounting activities under ASC 842, including lease evaluations, ROU asset and lease liability accounting, and related reporting requirements

  • Support acquisition accounting and post-acquisition integration activities

  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Workplace, Transformation, Tax, and Treasury teams

  • Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve scalability

  • Leverage technology, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial insights

  • Assist with implementation and optimization of financial systems, accounting tools, and reporting processes

  • Support external audits, SOX compliance activities, and special projects as needed

Required Skills and Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA preferred

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within SaaS, cloud, or high-growth technology companies

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP

  • Strong systems aptitude with experience using ERP platforms such as Workday, NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, or SAP

  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets and complex reconciliations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $108,000 - $141,700.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
