Responsibilities

    Provides advanced comprehensive Indirect tax services for multiple entities.
  • Gathers & manipulates data from various systems to prepare workpapers.
  • Prepares and files state and local sales and use tax returns as assigned (US & Canada). VAT experience a plus.
  • Verifies and manages sales tax resale and exemption certificates.
  • Processes sales tax verifications
  • Provides Indirect Tax quotes.
  • Identifies tax nexus with new jurisdictions as needed.
  • Assists Indirect Tax Director with Credits & Incentives projects as needed.
  • Completes advanced tax research and communicates tax recommendations for specific tax scenarios as they arise, and maintains tax matrices.
  • Responds to inquiries made by sales and use tax authorities with respect to returns filed and tax paid.
  • Responds to a variety of internal and external inquiries promptly.
  • Manages sales/use and misc. audits & appeals under the supervision of the Indirect Tax Director.
  • Performs account reconciliations.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement and automation using advanced technology.
  • Keeps abreast of new legislative and other developments in the area of Indirect Tax.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Indirect Tax Director


Qualifications / Education

  • BA or BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • 7+ years of experience in Indirect Tax
  • IPT training/certification(s) a plus
  • Leasing Experience Preferred

  • Ability to exercise strict confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with MS suite, especially advanced Excel, Power Query, AI/Automation and tax research tools
  • Understanding of accounting and business principles
  • Experience with Vertex/Avatax/ATR/CCH software a plus
