Job Description




As a Security Officer Afternoon Patrol in Salt Lake City, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. In this people-first role, you will support a welcoming environment through strong communication, teamwork, and integrity while bringing an agile and reliable presence to daily operations.

Pay Rate: $20.80 / Hour

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or tenants by following site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response protocols within a retail location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to management and/or first responders as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and the exterior perimeter to help identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor foot traffic, observe for unusual activity, and help to deter theft, trespassing, loitering, and/or policy violations through a visible presence.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and/or maintenance or security-related concerns, and report issues according to site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
