The Spirit of the Position:

The Maintenance Technician will provide back-up and be responsible for supporting the maintenance team in various garages throughout New York and New Jersey. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a combination of hands-on maintenance and customer service, while following maintenance and operational compliance.

Principal Job Description:

What We Do

Our FM team handles a broad range of work, depending on the season, no two days are the same:



    • Preventive maintenance (maintain things before they break)
    • Break/fix repairs
    • Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and support with general repairs
    • Pressure washing, line striping and facility beautification
    • Low voltage: AV, IT, POS, CCTV, parking revenue-control system support
    • Marketing and signage installations
    • Seasonal and holiday decor
    • Winter snow clearing and salt spreading activity
    • Special projects and facility improvements

Where We Work



  • Throughout the five boroughs of New York City & across New Jersey: from Asbury Park to Englewood
  • Work takes place within active parking garages, open parking lots and within public and private properties


When We Work



  • Primarily Monday through Friday
  • Day shifts and night shifts are available depending on position and operational needs
  • Some projects or emergencies can require travel and/or schedule flexibility


How We Work



  • Work is scheduled, planned and coordinated by our own Supervisors and Managers so teams know where they are going and what needs to get done
  • LAZ provides all tools, materials, uniforms and PPE needed to perform the work safely and efficiently
  • Teams have access to work vehicles and specialty trucks/equipment depending on the assignment
  • Safety is a priority while working around active parking operations, vehicles, customers and the public
  • Much of what we do happens behind the scenes, maintaining and improving the spaces our coworkers and customers use every day

Requirements:


  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and work orders.

Physical Demands:


  • Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
