The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR)

Job Description

The University of Missouri Research Reactor (MURR) is seeking a Metrology Technician II to work within the Products and Services group. This position will report to the Senior Supervisor - Metrology and will be responsible for calibration, maintenance, and repair of the equipment associated with the Production group and Quality Control group to ensure equipment is functioning for its intended purpose and qualified for GMP use. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, enjoy teamwork, and have a commitment to excellence working within a GMP environment.

Key Duties Performed by This Position Will Include
*Participate in the ordering, installation, and initial qualification of new cGMP equipment.
*Perform calibration and requalification of cGMP equipment according to industry standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and equipment qualification protocol (EPRTs).
*Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing calibration and maintenance activities.
*Maintain FDA Good Manufacturing Processes within an NRC (Nuclear Regulatory Commission) regulated facility.
*Maintain accurate documentation of all calibration and maintenance activities of cGMP equipment.
*Review technical documentation of equipment qualification protocols to ensure accuracy.
*Communicate and collaborate with multiple departments and other team members involved in the calibration and qualification of cGMP to minimize schedule impact.
*Coordinate the off-site calibration of cGMP equipment as necessary.
*Oversee on-site equipment service vendors during their visit to ensure quality of work and compliance to MURR's safety and cGMP requirements.
*Assist in troubleshooting and resolving cGMP equipment issues while documenting all activities appropriately.
*Experience using analytical instrumentation highly recommended (i.e. ICP-OES, ICP-MS, HPGe, etc.).

Shift

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Infrequent evening or weekend work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a GMP environment
Experience using analytical instrumentation highly recommended (i.e. ICP-OES, ICP-MS, HPGe, etc.)

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour

Grade: GGS 008
