The Environmental Technician contributes directly to this mission by applying advanced engineering, design, scientific, and environmental technology expertise to lead complex projects and guide multidisciplinary teams. This role ensures that technical excellence, sustainability, and environmental innovation are embedded into every stage of project delivery, from concept through to decommissioning and remediation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and sustained supervision to engineers, designers, scientists, and environmental specialists across large independent projects or multiple smaller initiatives. Apply advanced engineering, design, and environmental technology knowledge to planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, construction, execution, and overall project delivery. Drive innovation by incorporating advanced environmental technologies into project solutions to reduce environmental impact, optimize resource use, and support customer sustainability goals. Lead the development and application of sustainable frameworks, modifying established approaches or creating new solutions to meet complex customer challenges. Mentor and guide team members in engineering and environmental practices, supporting capability building and knowledge transfer. Prepare and present proposals, technical reports, and environmental impact recommendations that influence decision-making and support Worley's ambition to be recognized globally as a leader in sustainability solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders, regulators, partners, and customers to address complex technical and environmental issues, aligning priorities to deliver integrated outcomes. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, environmental regulations, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices. Identify opportunities for innovation in environmental technology, supporting continuous improvement and advancing Worley's commitment to sustainable project delivery.
Qualifications / Skillset
University degree in a relevant engineering, environmental technology, design, or scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Extensive experience in technical project delivery, with advanced knowledge and specialized expertise in environmental technology applications within energy, chemicals, or resources. Proven ability to integrate environmental technologies and sustainability principles into engineering and project delivery. Strong background in planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and execution within large, complex, and environmentally sensitive projects. Skilled at supervising and guiding technical staff, with experience mentoring teams in both engineering and environmental practices. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive proposals, technical presentations, and environmental reports to stakeholders and customers. Strong understanding of engineering, scientific, and environmental systems, processes, and tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and drive improvement. Demonstrated commitment to HSE practices and environmental compliance, embedding safety and sustainability into all aspects of project delivery. Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence, align, and engage diverse teams, partners, and regulators toward shared environmental and business objectives.
