Remote Type: Salary Range: 75,000 - 85,000 Job Shift: Job Description: Dunwoody College of Technology currently has the need for a new instructor within its Electrical Construction & Maintenance program, which is housed in the Construction Sciences & Building Technology department. Dunwoody's Electrical Construction & Maintenance program provides students the essential information required to start an entry-level position in the electrical industry. Themes prevalent throughout the curriculum include industry standards and best practices, knowledge of electronics and electricity, operation and troubleshooting of equipment, knowledge of the National Electrical code, wiring methods and materials in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations, power systems, motors and control systems, and safety. The instructor will be responsible for delivering and maintaining curriculum in line with current industry standards and practices, advising students, developing curriculum, and building and maintaining relationships with industry. The successful candidate will have the ability to disseminate the technical information required to the students along with applying the candidate's own industry experiences to reinforce the prevalent theories in the program. Primary Objective: This position is responsible for initiating the teaching and learning process with a focus on continuous improvement in an environment in which students can accomplish the learning objectives of the course of instruction. Results in students able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, ethics, and use of proper tools to meet industry and professional business standards. Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
- Fair computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access.
- Ability to learn new computer programs and database management systems and demonstrate proficiency given adequate training.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, potential employers and/or other external constituents.
- Ability to communicate difficult messages in a professional manner.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule including select evenings and weekends to meet college business needs.
- Must be professional in all aspects of the position including appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
- To perform the job successfully, must have adequate knowledge of and willingness to use specialized software such Canvas, ticketing systems and/or other databases/electronic aids, in order to be as self-sufficient as possible in day-to-day operations. Use and maintain shared network folders to greatly limit reliance on personally stored items and documents.

- Monitors, assesses and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance.
- Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction.
- Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within assigned course of instruction.
- Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners.
- Recommends equipment purchases for labs/classrooms
- As a part of a team, designs and develops new curriculum within assigned program.
- Provides support, coaching, and guidance to students
- Participates in industry and/or professional organizations in order to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity.
