Position Summary The Associate Director assists in all elements of service delivery and program development for students registered with the CAE with various disabilities. Provides information to UCLA students who suspect that they may have a disability and make referrals to on-campus and off-campus resources; provides specialized disability-related counseling for students; coordinate and explain services for students served by CAE; leads and/or co-facilitates support groups and instruct small group workshops in disability management and advocacy; provides disability awareness presentations for campus faculty, staff and students. Prepares written program materials, and assists, when necessary, in other CAE services and functions. Reporting to the CAE Director, the Associate Director oversees CAE Disability Specialist (DS) team and manages the documentation review and intake process. Major duties include: supervises CAE Disability Specialists; manages documentation review process; provides leadership to the DS team; identifies strategies, establishes staffing levels and caseloads; establishes communication mechanisms that are responsive to the students and to the faculty; engages in outreach and education for the faculty to achieve desired outcomes and establishes needed linkages with other campus and community organizations such as Counseling and Psychological Services, Athletics, Career Center, Academic Advisors, and Associate Deans in the professional schools. Provides guidance and support to Disability Specialists. Caseload will include high-resource students needing high-level support. As a member of the CAE Leadership Team, helps manage resources (space, budget, personnel); develops program materials; and otherwise assists as needed in the CAE. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.
