Per Diem Licensed Vocational Nurse

The mission of The Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center (The Ashe Center) is to support UCLA students in the successful attainment of their educational goals through the personalized delivery of accessible, high-quality health and wellness services, rendered with kindness and competence, by diligent, dedicated professionals. Our comprehensive services include Primary Care, Gynecology Services, Immunizations, Travel Medicine, Physical Therapy, Specialty Clinics, Radiology & Laboratory, and Acupuncture - all under one roof! We are also pleased to offer additional services in the Ackerman Student Union: a full-service optometry center, U See LA Optometry, and the Bruin Health Pharmacy. UCLA's student health center and its suite of services consistently rank as best in the nation. Most recently, the wellness fintech brand Ness awarded UCLA and The Ashe Center as the healthiest college in the state of California. The Per Diem Licensed Vocational Nurse at the Arthur Ashe Student Health and Wellness Center provides on-demand patient care and clinician support on an as-needed basis. Under direct supervision and following written standing orders or clinician instructions, they perform vital signs assessments, injections, wound care, patient education, rooming, specimen collection, and EHR documentation in both primary care and specialty clinics. They adhere to departmental guidelines, university policies, and community standards of practice, reporting to the LVN Supervisor and/or the Practice Manager at the start and end of each shift and participating in debriefings to relay patient concerns, unfinished tasks, and supply needs. Licensed in California, they must demonstrate competence in basic vocational-nursing procedures, exercise autonomy within their scope while promptly escalating complex issues. The Per Diem Licensed Vocational Nurse will meet with the LVN Supervisor periodically to assess performance.
