Summary: The IT Lead Engineer is responsible for the IT infrastructure and daily operations across multiple offices, jobsite, and marine vessels. This position will serve as the primary technical escalation point for the service desk and will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of all servers, networks, and systems. The role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, self-directed professional who can mentor junior team members, manage competing priorities, and translate complex infrastructure challenges into clear business terms for leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management:
- Design, install, configure, and maintain servers, storage, backups and networking components.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies and other domain controller functionality.
- Manage integration with Microsoft 365 services and hybrid identify with Entra ID, cloud authentication, conditional Access and Identity security best practices.
- Manage Windows Server environments (2016-2025) including server upgrades, file servers, SQL server, and other application servers.
- Manage VM lifecycle, performance, and capacity in Nutanix AHV, including Prism Element/Central Administration.
- Lead server patching and application deployment using KACE SMA and other tools.
- Diagnose and resolve complex system and application issues.
- Provide Tier 3 support for infrastructure and SharePoint-related incidents.
- Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures for optimization.
- Assist IT Director in mapping the strategic direction of Manson's IT, particularly as it relates to the IT infrastructure and operations.
- Assist IT Help Desk Manager with issues related to the IT infrastructure.
- SharePoint Administration:
- Deploy, configure, and manage SharePoint Online and on-premises environments.
- Develop and maintain site collections, libraries, workflows, and permissions.
- Collaborate with business units to customize SharePoint solutions for document management and collaboration.
- Security & Compliance:
- Apply security patches and updates to servers and applications.
- Implement access controls and data protection measures.
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, change controls, IT processes and industry standards for Manson Construction.
- Collaborate with the IT/OT Cybersecurity Manager on infrastructure hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.
- Assist IT Project Coordinator on IT project related matters.
- Provide 2nd level support to members of Manson's IT department.
- Provide training for other members of Manson's IT department.
- Travel to Manson offices, job sites, and vessels as needed.
- Contribute to the development of methods to improve business efficiency, reduce risks, increase controls and/or increase user satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
- Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities desired in candidates.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- At least 10 years of experience in IT Engineering roles
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including leadership and end users
- Experience mentoring or developing junior IT staff, with a collaborative and team-oriented working style
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment, with sound judgment on escalation and risk
- Experience managing IT projects and vendor relationships, including scoping, scheduling, and accountability for outcomes
- In-depth practical knowledge and experience with:
- Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), DNS, DHCP, GPO
- Windows Server 2016-2025
- SharePoint Development (Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Nutanix AHV (or strong hypervisor experience)
- Office 365 / Microsoft 365 administration
- Identity & access management (Entra, ADFS, RADIUS, PKI)
- Backup systems (Datto, Veeam, HYCU, etc.)
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Server and application migrations
- Experience with:
- KACE SMA (or enterprise patch/config tools)
- Multi-office and/or industrial/OT environments
- SQL Server basics (backups, restores, service accounts)
- CompTIA Security+ and Network+ (preferred)
- Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, MS-102, SC-300, SC-400, SharePoint or Azure Administrator) or Nutanix NCA/NCP (preferred)
- Experience participating in CMMC or NIST 800-171 readiness, gap assessments, or POA&M remediation (preferred)
- Experience supporting SIEM/EDR and MDM tools (CrowdStrike, Defender, Microsoft Intune, etc.) (preferred)
