Lead a team of senior commercial real estate relationship managers to drive portfolio growth, credit quality, and customer excellence. Provide strategic direction, ensure disciplined execution, and strengthen the bank's commercial real estate market presence.
About This Role: Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop senior CRE relationship managers to deliver customer-centric solutions with strong pipeline management and disciplined deal execution.
- Provide expertise across all types of financing: land acquisition, development, vertical construction, mini-perm, and permanent market placement.
- Guide team in serving diverse property types including office, retail, multi-family, industrial, senior housing, hotel, student housing, student housing, data center financing, and other income-producing. Somewhere we should probably mention portfolio management or some other name.
- Ability to act as a strong partner and voice as a member of the Business Segment leadership team. Work collectively with peers to advance Segment priorities and strategic initiatives.
- Set performance objectives and KPIs, conduct evaluations, and provide ongoing coaching.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture focused on customer service excellence.
Portfolio Strategy & Risk Management
- Oversee complex CRE portfolio, balancing growth with prudent credit risk management.
- Manage overall exposure to certain product types (industrial, multifamily) to make sure we don't exceed set limits.
- Partner with credit, underwriting, and risk teams to ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Identify emerging risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong governance, reporting, controls, and business continuity frameworks.
Market & Customer Engagement
- Serve as the senior bank representative in the CRE market.
- Build and deepen relationships with developers, investors, and key market influencers.
- Identify 1-2-year market trends and evolving customer needs.
- Represent FNBO at industry events, conferences, and through board participation.
Business Growth & Financial Performance
- Develop and execute 12-month rolling Operational Plan to drive operating income.
- Manage operating budgets, people, processes, and technology to achieve 1-2 year financial goals.
- Identify and execute significant investments with long-term benefits; provide input on larger investment opportunities.
- Contribute to 2-5 year Strategic Plan and capital investment planning for new products, services, markets, and business models.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with credit, treasury, commercial, capital markets, operations and primary partners to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer needs and strengthen the bank's competitive position.
Talent Development and Succession
- Identify and cultivate future leaders within the team. Ensure continuous development, knowledge, knowledge transfer, and readiness for expanded responsibilities.
The Ideal Candidate for This Role: Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field
- 10-15+ years of commercial real estate lending experience
- Evidence of leadership capability through strategic judgment, disciplined execution, navigation of complex problems, and thoughtful communications.
- Proven business development and portfolio growth track record.
- Strong credit analysis and underwriting skills across multiple property types.
- Deep understanding of CRE markets, valuation methodologies, and risk assessment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in loan origination systems and financial analysis tools.
