Responsibilities

  • The Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) provides safe, evidence-based respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in accordance with physician orders, established standards, and hospital policies.
  • TheCRT performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to support patients with cardiopulmonary impairments and contributes to interdisciplinary care planning.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by NBRC.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license through theTexas Medical Board.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire (adult-care settings)within 6 months of hire.
  • NRP and/or PALS certification as required by the patient populationwithin 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • One year of acute care experience.
  • Experience working in critical care, emergency department, or neonatal ICU.
  • Familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems.
