DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of the on-duty charge nurse, the hospital telemetry technician carries out dysrhythmia monitoring responsibilities. The Telemetry Tech will be responsible in monitoring inpatient holds in the ED/EDIP who requires continuous cardiac monitoring. As needed, the hospital telemetry assistant will participate in HUSC and other patient care-related duties within the unit under supervision. The Telemetry technician will call for additional assistance as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS One (1) year of experience performing telemetry monitoring, interpretation, and cardiac rhythm recognition or equivalent experience performing EKG monitoring duties in an acute care setting (e.g., Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Step-Down Unit). BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. Completion of a Telemetry and/or EKG course. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous patient care experience. Recent acute care CNA experience. Experience working in an Emergency Department. Telemetry Technician Certification. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $54,017 - $67,129 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $25.87 - $32.15 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
