About the Role:

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the CRO is accountable for optimization of the production system safely, efficiently and without environmental impact in accordance with the facility business plan, management system and applicable legislation. This position requires the ability to prepare and operate the central control room, process systems and safety systems. The CRO will also oversee operations performed under the Permit to Work system. The CRO is accountable for optimizing & monitoring the process equipment through field operations or control room interface systems for desired pressures, temperature, levels,& tracking efficiency.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all activities are performed safely, within relevant regulatory and company requirements, and in accordance with HSEC standards.
  • Operate, adjust production & injection well fluid & pressures, fluid separation vessels, produced water handling systems, crude oil to export & gas compression & the treatment & distribution equipment & process (inclusive of process support systems: instrument air, chemicals, heating & seawater) Operation of Subsea Pump.
  • Communicate with other team leaders to optimize day-to-day operational activities.
  • Participate in emergency response exercises.
  • Oversee the operation of safety systems, process control systems and communications systems; initiate any necessary action to ensure safe operation.
  • Maintain compliance with operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Approve work permits according to permit-to-work procedures.
  • Demonstrate competence as a Control Room Operator by safely monitoring and controlling all facility operations.
  • Identify opportunities and methods to achieve continuous improvement in the asset.
  • Work within the asset to achieve a multi-discipline approach to problem solving and to meet or exceed asset objectives.
  • Prepare reports and generate detailed records and handover notes as required to facilitate proper communications.
  • Carry out performance and compliance testing of wells and diagnosis and optimization on production systems.

Skills & Experience:

Qualifications:



  • High School graduate, Technician's Diploma, GED or equivalent required.


Experience and Technical Competencies:



  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in the hydrocarbons industry as a control room operator.
  • Strong health, safety, environmental record required.
  • Willingness and ability to work on high platforms, walk on high elevations grating & walk up & down steps.
  • Comfortable riding in a helicopter over Gulf of America waters for extended periods & be transferred to/from a boat via personnel basket swung by a crane with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Strong team working skills, along with experience in working with engineers and/or multi-disciplinary teams required.
  • Experience in oil and gas process, including separation, dehydration, compression, safety and utility systems preferred.
  • Experience in operational reporting, diagnostics, troubleshooting and production optimization preferred.
  • Experience in simultaneous operations involving production, drilling, maintenance, marine and construction activities preferred.
