The University of Virginia's Division of Student Affairs invites applications for a Networks Coordinator for the Office of African-American Affairs. The Division of Student Affairs consists of over 200 employees including: Office of the Vice President and Chief Student Affairs Officer; Student Health and Wellness; Housing and Residence Life; and several units reporting to the Dean of Students - all working together, for and alongside students, to create the distinctive student experience for which UVA is known. About the Office of African American Affairs The Office of African American Affairs (OAAA) is rooted in a long tradition of advancing student success, fostering community, and creating opportunities for connection, learning, and leadership at the University of Virginia. Honoring its historic foundation while expanding its reach, OAAA serves as a hub for community engagement, cultural enrichment, institutional wayfinding, integrative guidance, and peer and professional networks. Position Overview The Networks Coordinator plays a central role in advancing OAAA's mission of connecting students to people, opportunities, and pathways that support their personal, academic, and professional growth. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Networks, the Coordinator helps cultivate a vibrant ecosystem of peer, alumni, faculty, staff, and community connections that enhance student success and belonging. This position supports the development and implementation of programs that strengthen peer-to-peer engagement, foster mentorship and professional networking opportunities, encourage career curiosity and exploration, and connect students to the broader UVA community. The Coordinator will oversee key operational functions while helping expand OAAA's network-based approach to student engagement and support. The ideal candidate is a collaborative relationship-builder, skilled communicator, and student-centered professional who is passionate about creating opportunities for students to connect, explore, and thrive. About the Position This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of computers. The job will occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs. This position cannot sponsor cases for immigration now or in the future. A background check will be conducted on all new hires prior to hire. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
