Overview

We are Hiring: Accounting Intern
Location: Cherry Hill, NJ - Corporate office
Hourly rate: $18.00/hr
Schedule - In-person 3 days a week, 9am-3pm Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Corporate Education Accounting team. In this role, you will support the education division by executing esentail financial workflows, including audits/desk reviews, conducting account analysis, and handling data-entry management. This intership offers a unique opportunity to manage NJDOE mandated contracts, liaise with sending school districts, and directly contribute to our Representative Payee Transfer project. You will work under the direct supervision of our DOE accounting team and Senior Director, ensuring strict compliance with the Department of Education (DOE) policies and standards.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

    Audit Support: Assist with internal and external financial audits by gathering required documents and performing accurate data entry into the DOE Homeroom portal
  • Desk Reviews: Assist with DOE desk reviews by securely entering sensitive information and expense data into the DOE Homeroom portal.
  • Supplier Invoice Review: Review supplier invoices to ensure they are accurately allocated to DOE accounts
  • Contract mailbox: Manage the dedicated contracts email inbox to route inquiries and process incoming documents. Compare purchase orders to contracts to ensure they match, route them to the Director for signature and email signed copies back to the sending school districts.
  • File Management and Tracking: Save signed contracts into Salesforce and maintain an accurate, up-to-date tracking log.
  • Rep Payee Transfer Project: Assist with the Representative Payee transfer project by organizing paperwork, following up with programs for necessary forms, sending applications to the procesing agency and maintaining an accurate tracker.



Qualifications

Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.

Software Skills: Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)

Attention to Detail: Excellent analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy for data entry and financial analysis

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
