The MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Director of Non-Aeronautical Revenue (DOT Executive V) within the Office of Commercial Management at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).

The Deputy Director of Non-Aeronautical Revenue (DOT Executive V) is responsible for managing all commercial non-aeronautical and non-airline business activities within the office of Commercial Management. These activities include the analysis, negotiation and management of leases and concessions contracts at BWI Marshall and Martin State Airports.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Directing and supervising negotiation and preparation of revenue contracts with commercial tenants and private sector businesses.
  • Developing policies and procedures for tenants and concessions, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and facilitating excellent customer service.
  • Supporting and occasionally overseeing the preparations and modification of solicitations that result in concession selection and award.
  • Point of contact for Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) and all non-airline tenants at BWI Marshall and Martin State airports in matters related to space management, rents, revenue collection and testing.
  • Supporting management of terminal space including all airports space assignments, classifications and inventory.
  • Implementing assignment of commercial and hangar space at Martin State Airport.
  • Participating with planners and engineers in the planning and review of airport development plans to ensure commercial business tenants and concession programs meet the needs of the traveling public, private companies, and goals of Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA).
  • Managing the performance of administrative functions relating to lease contracts. This position is located at BWI Marshall Airport in Anne Arundel County, MD.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Aviation Management, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Contract Management, or a related field.

Experience: Five (5) years of professional experience in commercial management, concessions, leasing, contract administration, business development, real estate management, or revenue management at an airport, transportation authority, or similarly complex public or private organization.

Note:

U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the Minimum Qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year-for-year basis.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience managing airport non-aeronautical revenue programs and commercial operations.
  • Expertise negotiating and administering complex revenue-generating contracts.
  • Strong financial, strategic planning, and business development skills.
  • Experience implementing technology to improve revenue management and contract compliance.
  • Ability to manage large contract portfolios and multiple priorities.
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of airport commercial operations and industry best practices.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
