Quality Operations Manager

The Quality Operations Manager oversees all quality control and inspection activities in the manufacturing plant to ensure compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position leads a team of Quality Supervisors and works closely with engineering, production, and management to drive continuous improvement, resolve quality issues, and uphold the highest standards of product integrity.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Quality Supervisors, Dyno Technicians, Quality Auditors, and Gage technicians across multiple shifts and departments.
  • Develop and implement inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality standards for incoming materials, in-process components, pass through features and finished products.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality and safety standards.
  • Perform audits of inspection processes, work cells, and documentation to verify adherence to specifications and quality plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify root causes of defects and drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Train and mentor inspection staff on proper measurement techniques, GD&T interpretation, and use of inspection equipment (CMMs, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Participate in customer and third-party audits as a quality representative.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of inspection results, nonconformances, and quality reports.


Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or STEM related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing components, machining processes, and inspection methods.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience with quality systems, tools, and methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.



Preferred Experience:



  • Prior experience in manufacturing or automotive/aerospace industries.
  • Proficiency with CMM programming and advanced metrology tools.
