Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Onsite - Georgetown Hospital)

Duration: 2 months (Potential for Extension/Conversion)

Shift: Monday-Friday | 9:30 AM - 6:15 PM


Job Description

We are seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Washington, DC. This is an onsite role located within Georgetown Hospital, serving outpatient patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent phlebotomy skills, strong customer service, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on approximately 20-30 patients per day.
  • Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Check in patients and verify required information.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Restock phlebotomy supplies and maintain organized draw rooms.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of five staff members.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to stand for 2-3 hours throughout the day, with intermittent sitting.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Previous experience in an outpatient laboratory or patient service center.


Work Environment

  • Located inside Georgetown Hospital in an outpatient laboratory setting.
  • Functions similarly to a Patient Service Center (PSC).
  • Team-oriented environment with approximately 5 staff members.
  • 1-2 weeks of onsite training provided.
