Overview

Orrick currently has an excellent hybrid opportunity for a Business Development Senior Coordinator based in any of our U.S. offices.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated Business Development Senior Coordinator to join our Sector and Markets team. This role provides day-to-day support for business development, marketing, and client engagement initiatives that align with the firm's sector-focused strategy. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to build a career in business development and professional services marketing.

What Will I Do?

As a Business Development Senior Coordinator, you will support a variety of business development and marketing activities, including campaign coordination, data management, event support, content updates, and client targeting efforts. You will work closely with members of the Sector & Markets team and other business development professionals to help ensure projects and initiatives are completed effectively and on time.

How Will I Spend My Time?


Responsibilities

Business Development Support

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of business development and marketing initiatives, including thought leadership campaigns and client outreach efforts.
  • Support the maintenance of marketing databases, mailing lists, and other business development systems.
  • Help track project timelines and ensure deliverables are completed according to schedule.

Project Coordination

  • Provide administrative and project support for business development initiatives, including events, client targeting projects, lateral integration activities, practice collateral updates, and attorney biography maintenance.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of marketing materials and presentations.
  • Coordinate logistics and follow-up activities for internal and external events.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with business development team members to support ongoing initiatives and special projects.
  • Participate in team meetings and assist with documenting action items and project updates.
  • Build effective working relationships with attorneys, business professionals, and colleagues across the firm.

Operations and Process Support

  • Help maintain and organize business development resources, templates, and materials.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and tracking of key business development activities.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by providing feedback and helping implement new tools and procedures.

Professional Development

  • Participate in firm training and development opportunities.
  • Learn business development best practices, project coordination skills, and marketing technologies used across the firm.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, business development, communications, administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Internship or professional services experience is a plus.
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience required; marketing, business, communications, English, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to support projects and coordinate tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to support colleagues across the department.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with databases, CRM platforms, or marketing systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is:

  • New York City, Silicon Valley, and San Francisco $61,000 - $88,000
  • Washington DC, Los Angeles, Orange County, Santa Monica, Sacramento, Boston, and Seattle $57,000 - $85,000
  • All Other US Locations $54,000 - $85,000

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
