Job Description

Visa's Global Authentication & Identity product team is responsible for building solutions to help our clients detect and prevent fraud for e-commerce payments.Payment Authentication is a critical component of this vision, and at Visa we've been pioneers in this space with the 3DS authentication standards. Through Visa Secure, we not only develop these standards with industry partners, but build the supporting products, programs, and platforms and drive adoption in our ecosystem.

The Sr. Product Manager will be responsible for driving initiatives that support the authentication modernization strategy. The candidate should be able to quickly come up to speed on technical aspects and Visa's authentication solution set and think critically and strategically about how they should be integrated.

The role will be a key member of Visa's Global Authentication & Identity product management team working to drive and deliver against the roadmap and will work in close partnership with technology and regional teams to advance Visa's product vision globally. This role requires a variety of skillsets across strategy, product management, product development, data science, delivery, and operations.

The role will also engage and collaborate with 3DS ecosystem stakeholders (3DS service providers, clients, vendors) to ensure healthy operation and resilience of the system for the Visa Secure program and 3DS Directory Server platform. Additional exact product scope will be defined by business priorities.

The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for directing product strategy from conception and definition through implementation. This role identifies new business and market opportunities and creates appropriate business plans. Responsibilities include determining the market for the product, understanding marketplace requirements, and ensuring consistency of new products with the organization's image and objectives. The Sr. Product Manager functions as a central resource, interacting with systems, marketing, and sales during the product development stage, and formulates and executes long-term plans for cost and profit control. The role also promotes the use of new technologies and industry-leading trends.

All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.

Essential Functions:

  • Explore creative ways for greater Visa engagement with the over 300 3DS services providers connected to the Visa Secure Directory Server
  • Proactively monitor ecosystem product performance with clients directly and through data analysis to improve the overall performance and quality of service for all stakeholders
  • Define the roadmap and execute the delivery for the enablement of the next version of EMV 3DS 2.x adoption.
  • Develop "subject matter expertise" on the EMVCo 3-D Secure 2.X specifications to be able to interpret the spec and apply the knowledge to actual implementations
  • Provide technical support and consultation to issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and 3-D Secure vendors

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct product strategy from conception through implementation.
  • Identify new business and market opportunities and develop business plans.
  • Determine product market requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a central resource interacting with systems, marketing, and sales during product development.
  • Formulate and execute long-term plans for cost and profit control.
  • Promote adoption of new technologies and industry-leading trends.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, UX design, data science, and risk teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant product delivery
  • Work closely with regional product teams to ensure global strategies are actionable and locally relevant

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Experience in roles such as product manager, product owner, business process analyst, or sales operations.
  • Experience in applying Agile principles across design, development, testing, and product management.
  • Experience in developing software capabilities to support sales, service, or customer relationship management functions.
  • Experience in multi-tasking, organizing, managing, and implementing complex projects directly or through supervision.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with systems, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Agile certifications such as CSM and CSPO, or their equivalent.
  • Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing tradeoffs in product development.
  • Experience in identifying points of failure and formulating error-handling approaches for product resiliency.
  • Understanding of payment processing and payment landscape a plus
  • Ability to work within a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties

The estimated salary range for this positionis $169,100.00 to $ 270,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
