Registered Nurse (RN) - Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic (Ambulatory)

In the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic, you will help prepare medically complex patients for surgery by supporting comprehensive evaluations before procedures. This role is especially well-suited for an RN with ICU, ED, dialysis, or high-acuity ambulatory experience who is ready to move into a Monday-Friday clinic-based environment while continuing to work with challenging clinical scenarios.

The Role

As a Registered Nurse in the Preoperative Anesthesia Clinic at Fontaine Research Park, you will be part of a multidisciplinary ambulatory team that evaluates higher-risk surgical patients and supports anesthesia risk assessment before surgery. You will work closely with APPs, anesthesiologists, residents, nurse navigators, clinical coordinators, and other clinic team members to ensure patients are clinically prepared, informed, and supported before their procedures.

In an average day, you may:

• Support APPs and anesthesia providers during patient evaluations for surgical readiness.

• Help obtain outside medical records, testing results, and required clinical documentation.

• Provide patient education related to surgery preparation and anesthesia expectations.

• Coordinate care needs so patients arrive prepared for clinic visits and upcoming procedures.

• Apply your understanding of complex disease processes, comorbidities, and high-acuity patient needs.

• Collaborate daily with APPs, physicians, residents, navigators, and clinic staff in a team-based environment with strong clinical support.

• Build specialized knowledge in perioperative care, anesthesia risk concepts, and preoperative patient preparation through department-specific training.

The schedule is Monday-Friday with no weekends, no holidays, and no call responsibilities, and many team members work four 10-hour shifts with one weekday off.
