JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION


The Wholesale Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, increasing market share, and expanding EssilorLuxottica's product penetration within a designated portfolio of Independent Distributor Division (IDD) wholesale laboratory customers. This role develops strategic customer partnerships, identifies growth opportunities, and executes commercial initiatives that increase revenue, profitability, and customer loyalty. The Wholesale Account Manager serves as the primary IDD business partner for assigned accounts while representing the EssilorLuxottica portfolio and delivering solutions that align with customer business objectives.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Achieve assigned sales, revenue, and profitability objectives through execution of IDD sales and marketing strategies.
  • Grow EssilorLuxottica's share of wallet by expanding adoption of lens, coating, and premium product offerings across assigned IDD wholesale laboratory accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with laboratory owners, principals, customer service leaders, sales teams, and other key decision makers within assigned accounts.
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with authorized Varilux distributors to evaluate business performance, identify opportunities, and develop strategic growth plans.
  • Monitor monthly customer performance, sales trends, and LabSelect Program results using CRM and sales reporting tools to identify growth opportunities and business risks.
  • Identify new business opportunities through account analysis, customer needs assessments, and prospecting activities within the assigned territory.
  • Develop recommendations that improve customer performance, increase product utilization, and strengthen profitability across the assigned IDD customer portfolio.
  • Partner with IDD Marketing, EssilorLuxottica Brand Consultants, and cross-functional business partners to deliver coordinated customer support and maximize account growth.
  • Deliver product education, business reviews, and sales training to customer personnel as needed.
  • Conduct joint customer visits with customer sales teams and EssilorLuxottica Brand Consultants to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities.
  • Support customers in executing IDD marketing initiatives and promotional programs.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, forecasting, pipeline activity, and sales reporting utilizing company CRM and reporting systems.
  • Manage territory activities and expenses within established budget guidelines.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of sales experience in the ophthalmic industry or a related field; Independent Wholesale Laboratory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in account management, business development, and customer relationship management.
  • Strong communication, presentation, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver business solutions.
  • Working knowledge of the EssilorLuxottica product portfolio, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience supporting Independent Distributor Division (IDD) customers.
  • Knowledge of wholesale laboratory operations, Varilux distribution programs, and managed vision care.
