Overview:

The Forward Deployed Engineering & Technical Delivery Director leads one or more teams of Forward Deployed Engineers responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting Blue Yonder Defense Solutions (BYDS) platforms and agentic AI solutions within enterprise customer environments. This role provides technical leadership across the full customer solution lifecycle, partnering closely with customers, Product Development, Sales, and Partner teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that address mission-critical business needs.

Working closely with cross-functional teams and customers, the Director oversees customer delivery programs from requirements gathering and solution design through feature development, deployment, configuration, and ongoing optimization. The role leads engineers who serve as both solution delivery experts and technical problem solvers, identifying product gaps, developing new capabilities, and adapting solutions to meet evolving customer requirements. Success in this role requires balancing technical execution, customer engagement, team leadership, and delivery excellence while driving measurable business outcomes across multiple customer engagements.

What You Will Do/Scope:

  • Service delivery of product implementation and associated AI-powered solutions, including integrations across Blue Yonder Defense Solutions and Supply Chain Planning & Optimization platforms.
  • Lead customer engagements from requirements gathering and solution design through deployment, configuration, optimization, and ongoing delivery.
  • People leadership of Engineers, Architects, and technical SMEs, including objective setting, performance management, career development, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Guide technical teams through complex technical decisions, feature development, troubleshooting, code reviews, and delivery execution across customer engagements.
  • Partner with Product Development, Sales, and Partner teams to identify customer requirements, address product gaps, and deliver scalable solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
  • Support pursuits through MVP development, proofs of concept, prototypes, solution design, effort estimation, and pricing inputs.
  • Manage delivery quality, scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and client expectations while addressing escalations and protecting engagement outcomes.
  • Capture reusable delivery assets, technical documentation, implementation best practices, and runbooks to strengthen delivery excellence and customer enablement.

What We're Looking For:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience leading customer-facing software delivery, implementation, solution engineering, consulting, or technical delivery programs within enterprise SaaS, technology, systems integrator, or government defense environments.
  • 2+ years of people leadership or technical leadership experience managing engineers, architects, consultants, or technical delivery teams.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on software development, solution engineering, integration development, or full-stack development experience, including technical leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience leading enterprise software implementations, deployments, or customer delivery engagements from requirements gathering through production deployment and support.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Sales, and customer stakeholders to define requirements, solve complex business problems, and deliver scalable software solutions.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, and Agile/SAFe delivery frameworks.
  • Proficiency with project and delivery management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Aha!, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and multiple concurrent engagements.

Preferred Skills:

  • Implementation experience using Blue Yonder SCPO Platform(Demand, SCP/ESP, Fulfill, S&OP, IO)
  • Prior Blue Yonder Platform (PDC-Snowflake) and Cognitive planning exposure or trained
  • Experience building and deploying generative AI or large language model (LLM) solutions in client-facing or production environments.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning and its integration with enterprise systems.
  • Experience leveraging AI/ML technologies and supply chain solutions to improve decision-making and process automation.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary range for this role is $150,385 to $189,615 USD.

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
