Training Location: 5450 Knoll North Drive, Suite 150, Columbia, MD 21045

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM


Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join a busy Patient Service Center (PSC) in Ellicott City, MD. The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing high-volume blood collections, specimen processing, and patient registration while providing exceptional patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages, including pediatric patients.
  • Collect approximately 60+ blood draws per day in a fast-paced PSC environment.
  • Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Label, handle, and transport specimens according to established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and quality assurance guidelines.


Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a Phlebotomy training program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Experience performing high-volume blood draws.
  • Comfortable working with pediatric patients.
  • Strong specimen processing and patient registration skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC).
  • Experience with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.


Work Environment

  • Busy Patient Service Center (PSC).
  • Team-oriented environment.
  • Standing for short periods while performing blood draws.
  • Approximately 2 weeks of training (may be shorter for experienced candidates).


Additional Information

  • Contract: 3 months with potential extension.
  • Contract-to-Hire: Opportunity for permanent employment based on performance and business needs.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required if needed.
  • Vaccinations: No vaccinations required for this position.
