With its 318 beds, this non-profit, full-service acute care hospital offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms. Unit Description: The Inpatient Palliative Care RN provides clinical, education, and programmatic support for patients receiving palliative care throughout the hospital. Responsibilities include triaging new palliative care consults, prioritizing patients based on clinical needs, coordinating initial evaluations and follow-up care, providing symptom management and patient/family education, and supporting goals-of-care discussions and advance care planning. The RN serves as an important liaison between the palliative care service and primary medical teams, helping facilitate communication, identify patients who may benefit from palliative care, and ensure continuity of care throughout the hospitalization and transition to the outpatient setting when appropriate. The role also includes nursing education, some medication and discharge coordination, and participation in data collection, quality improvement, and program development activities. Minimum Education and Experience:
Salary Range: Minimum 43.25/hour - Maximum 67.04/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
