Title: Faculty Affairs Specialist Executive Area: Academic Affairs College/School/MBU: Other Academic Units Department: Honors Administration & Dean Work Location: Amherst Schedule:Full Time Work Arrangement:Hybrid Job Summary The Commonwealth Honors College(CHC) Academic Administration Specialist independently manages faculty personnel processes, partners with Human Resource Centers of Excellence (HR COEs), and ensures compliance with university policies and collective bargaining agreements. Essential Functions Serves as the main contact for all faculty lifecycle matters including appointments, reappointments, promotions, and academic leaves. Other Functions Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and more than three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or academic personnel administration, OR Associate's degree and more than five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or academic personnel administration. In-depth understanding of faculty appointment and promotion processes. Working Conditions Work is performed in a standard office or indoor university environment and involves minimal physical exertion. Work Schedule and Work Arrangement Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm This position has the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule, which is defined by the University as an arrangement where an employee's work is regularly performed at a location other than the campus workspace for a portion of the week. As this position is non-unit, it is subject to the terms and conditions of the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees Non-Unit (Professional/or Classified) Employee Personnel Policy.
