Summary:
With over 60 years of experience working in the community, The People Concern is proud to be among Los Angeles' most trusted homeless service providers. The Learning and Engagement Department is a staff-facing department at The People Concern, which supports our roughly 1,000 employees.
The Learning side of the department is responsible for all, company-wide training, including both elective and mandatory learning, professional development, and inspiring a company environment of continual learning and improvement. Programs of the Learning Department include: New Employee Orientation, People Concern University, People Leader Orientation, People Leader Academy, Pro-ACT, In the Know at People Co, Leadership Exposure and Exploration Program, Leaders Growing, People Leader Development Pods, Relias
The Employee Engagement side of the department is responsible for employee experience, including connection, internal communications, and general, company-wide problem solving. Programs of the Employee Engagement Department include: This Week at People Co, El Rodeo, SharePoint, Engage, Employee Council, Snappy/Anniversary Gifts, People Co Con, Day in the Park, Dodger game, Employee Engagement survey, huddles, and all internal communications
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Learning and Engagement, the Learning and Engagement Coordinators will support all activities of the department including ongoing and new projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fosters a culture of learning by championing Learning Department initiatives and collaborating across-agency in order to improve the onboarding process, agency culture, professional development and learning opportunities across departments and disciplines.
- Strives to provide all employees with the best possible employee experience during their time at The People Concern.
- Applies a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to all department activities and facilitates access to learning for all employees.
- Exact scope of work will be determined collaboratively with team and department leadership, but collectively coordinators are responsible for:
- Ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of learning opportunities (both live and e-learnings) by managing and coordinating the logistics, systems, and vendor relationships for learning opportunities and sessions.
- Producing, branding, editing, and distributing all internal communications.
- Coordinating, planning, and implementing company-wide events.
- Providing admin support for all department functions and programs, including scheduling, supply ordering, printing, logistics, and record keeping.
- Facilitates trainings and meetings as assigned.
- Supports the department in the creation and maintenance of all programs, plans, and records.
- Maintains and helps produce records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc.
- Oversees logistics including duties such as venue procurement, transportation of supplies and equipment, set up/break down of training spaces.
- Takes lead on multiple projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Valid CA Driver's license, reliable car, auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
- Self-motivated and able to successfully work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams and vendors.
- Ability to think critically about problems and be creative in finding solutions.
- Strong communication skills, including written and oral, especially business writing and editing skills.
- Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and communication skills.
- Strong Computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Demonstrates an ability to use new technology to enhance the employee learning experience.
- Ability to operate media equipment such as projectors and personal computers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Client-serving experience.
- Facilitation experience.
- Bilingual Spanish speaker.
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoor office environment
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 15 pounds
- May necessitate working in busy and loud environments
- May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor
- May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
