Description

As a CT Assistant at UCLA Health, you'll be an essential member of a high-performing imaging team, helping deliver exceptional patient care in one of the nation's leading academic medical centers. Working alongside CT technologists, interventional radiologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff, you'll play a key role in keeping patient care running safely and efficiently from start to finish.

In this dynamic role, you'll prepare CT suites for routine and advanced imaging procedures, transport and position patients, maintain equipment and supplies, support workflow management, and help create a safe, organized environment for both patients and staff. You'll also assist during complex CT-guided interventional procedures-including biopsies, drain placements, and tumor ablations-by preparing sterile fields, supporting patient positioning, managing specialized equipment, and ensuring procedural supplies are ready when needed. Salary Range: $31.24 - $41.22/Hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma.
  • BCLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Ability to accept and carry out oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Skill in performing all daily tasks independently, while working as part of a team, within a demanding environment.
  • Skill in employing independent decision making while performing various job functions.
  • Ability to promote team ownership of a project and avoid personal control.
  • Ability to prioritize work, handling multiple tasks to completion, within time allotted. Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to show attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and diplomatically with patients, visitors, hospital staff, physicians, scientists and other outside departments both in person and over the telephone.
  • Communication skills both verbal and written with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds in order to obtain necessary information accurately.
  • Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly in English, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Skill in providing a language interpreter if appropriate.
  • Telephone manners and skills to handle all telephone calls with courtesy and tact.
  • Skill in reading documents written in standard English, including (but not limited to) requisitions, medical documents, policy and procedure manuals, technical procedure manuals, operator manuals, equipment manuals and other written instructions.
  • Ability to respond efficiently to expressed needs of referring services, physicians and patients.
  • Ability to be courteous, compassionate and professional in any given situation, particularly with patients or visitors who are anxious and agitated.
  • Excellent skill in performing under stress of frequent interruptions and /or distractions.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Understands the requirement of EMTALA (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act).
  • Ability to identify and recognize contraindications for exams (Radiology Only)
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours given adequate notice.
  • Demonstrates consistent professional appearance.
  • Basic typing skills to input various data into RIS and Hospital information systems.
  • Ability to adapt to advancements and changing technologies.
