Job Summary:

The human resources coordinator facilitates administrative human resources processes. This role provides administrative support to the human resources function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, HRIS entry, development and implementation of internal HR processes. This includes acting as a first level of support for employee inquiries.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the HR Leadership team; schedules meetings, processes expense reports, prepares mailings, communications, and presentations.
  • Handles first-tier HR support by answering calls and emails from employees.
  • Supports the HR Budget process, ensures tracking and timely payment of HR invoices.
  • Assists with core HR initiatives and processes including, but not limited to the performance management, employee training, compensation, benefits & payroll administration, affirmative action plans.
  • Maintains HR Records; uploads documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Assists local office manager with HR-related activities and tasks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with HRIS (Workday preferred), reporting, and HR Analytics.

  • Highly effective communicator, skilled at bridging gaps between frontline staff, management, and executive leadership.
  • Ensures quality customer service and exercises discretion and professionalism when handling highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational / time management skills, detailed oriented.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements affecting HR practices.
  • Collaborative and professional style with the objective of building strong relationships with diverse groups.
  • Self-starter with a diligent work ethic and demonstrated flexibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including delivering effective presentations.
  • Leverage strong prioritization and troubleshooting skills to resolve issues and drive efficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HRIS.

Physical Demands

  • Employee must have the ability to sit and/or stand at a desk for a minimum of 8 hours a day and complete tasks requiring repetitive use of hands.
  • Employee must have the ability to see written documents, computer screens and to adjust focus.
  • This job is performed in a temperature controlled office environment.
