Position SummaryThe Production Planning & Project Planner serves as the bridge between long-range production planning and day-to-day manufacturing execution. This position develops integrated project plans, coordinates production readiness, manages timelines, identifies potential risks, and collaborates with Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Operations, and Sales to ensure successful machine builds.
You'll play a key role in preparing future production while continuously improving planning processes and visibility across the organization. What You'll Do Project Planning
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans for complex machine builds.
  • Coordinate planning for new product development, R&D projects, expedited customer orders, and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish project milestones and monitor progress across multiple departments.
  • Identify critical path activities and proactively address schedule risks.
  • Ensure projects remain aligned with customer commitments and production schedules.
Production Planning
  • Translate the Master Production Schedule into detailed production readiness plans.
  • Coordinate future job releases and production milestones.
  • Plan move-ins and move-outs outside the immediate production schedule.
  • Identify future capacity constraints and long-lead material requirements.
  • Support efficient production flow through proactive planning.
Material Readiness & Risk Management
  • Lead shortage management activities before production is impacted.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to ensure material availability.
  • Monitor future production risks and communicate potential impacts early.
  • Escalate issues that could affect customer delivery commitments.
Planning Process Improvement
  • Prepare planning reports, production metrics, and management dashboards.
  • Coordinate recurring planning meetings and track action items.
  • Improve planning systems, reporting, and cross-functional communication.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the planning organization.
What We're Looking For Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in production planning, project planning, manufacturing planning, scheduling, supply chain, or operations
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems is preferred
