Job Description
Position Overview
Metronome is seeking two mid-level Data Scientists / GEOINT Exploitation Specialists to support NGA's GEO-SPI B-016 program in Springfield, Virginia. In this role, you will apply data science, programming, and analytic techniques to GEOINT collection data and associated systems. You will help develop and test methodologies, automate data workflows, and identify meaningful insights from geospatial and multi-INT datasets in support of evolving intelligence requirements. Candidates must be comfortable working in a mission-driven environment where priorities and technical requirements may change quickly. This position is fully onsite at NGA's Springfield campus with no telework option.
Responsibilities
Apply data science and analytic techniques to GEOINT collection data and associated systems. Develop, maintain, and improve data-processing and analytic workflows using Python and SQL. Organize, transform, analyze, and interpret intelligence-related datasets. Support the integration and analysis of GEOINT and multi-INT data. Evaluate and apply machine learning algorithms to intelligence data when appropriate. Develop and test new analytic methodologies in response to mission requirements. Automate repeatable data preparation and analysis processes. Communicate analytic findings and technical recommendations to mission and technical stakeholders. Learn new technologies and adapt solutions to changing operational needs. Perform all work onsite in a secure government environment.
Required Qualifications
Ability to work onsite in Springfield, Virginia, 40 hours per week. Knowledge of GEOINT collection and associated systems. Proficiency with Python and SQL. Ability to meet the GEO-SPI Level 3 experience requirement through one of the following combinations:
At least five years of relevant professional experience; Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least two years of relevant professional experience; or Bachelor's and master's degrees in STEM fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, geospatial science, engineering, or a related discipline. 2+ of professional data science or related analytical experience. Experience working with multi-INT datasets. Experience applying machine learning algorithms to intelligence data. Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, or CSS. Experience with JEMA or comparable low-side workflow tools such as Esri ModelBuilder, Alteryx, or Tableau Prep. Experience building, testing, or optimizing automated data workflows. Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and adapt to dynamic mission requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Required Skills
* Active TS/SCI clearance with the willingness to take a CI polygraph exam * Able to work on client site in Springfield, Virginia 40 hours a week (no telework) * Knowledge of GEOINT collection and associated systems * Proficient with Python and SQL
