About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our team as Accounting Manager. In this role, you will lead the accounting activities supporting Element's North American operational lease portfolio, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with applicable accounting standards. You will oversee the monthly close process, develop and mentor team members, and strengthen financial controls. You will also partner across the organization to support new business initiatives, process improvements, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop the accounting team by providing coaching, performance management, technical guidance, workload prioritization, and employee development to build a high-performing team and ensure continuity of accounting operations.
  • Oversee the monthly financial close process by reviewing and approving journal entries, monitoring close activities, resolving accounting issues, and ensuring accurate and timely completion of financial reporting deliverables.
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy, timely resolution of reconciling items, and compliance with internal control and SOX requirements.
  • Analyze financial results and prepare management reporting by performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end variance analysis, supporting corporate reporting requirements, and providing meaningful financial insights to leadership.
  • Partner with cross-functional business teams to evaluate new products, business initiatives, accounting implications, and operational changes while providing accounting guidance and ensuring appropriate financial reporting treatment.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to automate processes, improve reconciliations, strengthen internal controls, enhance reporting capabilities, and increase operational efficiency through process re-engineering and technology solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA designation.
  • Progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising accounting professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience managing month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience within financial services, leasing, fleet management, or a regulated financial environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, SQL, Power BI, or similar analytical platforms, including SAP, Snowflake, and Blackline.

Compensation

The hiring base salary range for this position is $101,900 - $140,140 annually. This range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the expected base salary at the time of posting. Salary ranges may vary based on the geographic location where the work is performed. The salary range listed in this posting applies only to the location identified. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including the successful candidate's qualifications, knowledge, skills, experience, internal pay equity, and relevant market data. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in annual incentive programs, including bonuses, commissions, or other incentive compensation, as applicable to the role.
