Position Overview: The Clinical Expert, ProEd Segment Marketing serves as Laerdal's clinical authority for the Professional Education (ProEd) market, providing strategic guidance on competency-based education, clinical best practices, and educational standards across North America while influencing global initiatives. Working cross-functionally with Product & Segment Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Enablement, and executive stakeholders, this role ensures Laerdal solutions align with clinical, educational, and accreditation standards. Through deep clinical expertise, the Clinical Expert helps shape product strategy, educational methodologies, customer engagement, and go-to-market initiatives that improve competency development, learner readiness, and training outcomes across diverse healthcare education environments. Responsibilities: Clinical Strategy & Governance
- Serve as the clinical authority for the ProEd segment, providing expertise on competency-based education, accreditation requirements, and healthcare education trends.
- Develop clinical strategies that support educational markets and workforce readiness.
- Monitor industry, regulatory, and curriculum trends to inform business and product decisions.
Clinical Leadership & Product Influence
- Lead the integration of competency-based education principles across products, programs, and initiatives.
- Partner with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales to ensure solutions align with clinical best practices and customer needs.
- Provide clinical guidance on simulation-based education, skills development, and competency assessment.
Customer & Market Impact
- Gather customer and market insights to drive product innovation and educational effectiveness.
- Develop evidence, case studies, and outcome-based stories that demonstrate the value of Laerdal solutions.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and industry partners.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate across Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Enablement to maintain clinical accuracy and strategic alignment.
- Lead and influence cross-functional initiatives that support business growth and customer success.
Thought Leadership & Industry Representation
- Represent Laerdal at conferences, advisory boards, customer events, and industry forums.
- Share insights on emerging trends, educational methodologies, and competency development to shape future strategy.
Strategic Insights & Professional Development
- Provide leadership with insights on market trends, accreditation changes, and growth opportunities.
- Maintain expertise in clinical practice, healthcare education, simulation, and emerging learning technologies.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing, respiratory therapy, emergency medical services, or a related clinical field required; advanced degree preferred (MSN, MSRT, MEd, etc.).
- National clinical certifications are highly preferred, CCRN, CNE, CHSE, CHSE-A
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare education, or simulation-based instruction.
- Deep understanding of Professional Education markets (CTE, Allied Health, prelicensure programs) and competency-based education models.
- Proven expertise influencing enterprise strategy, product development, or large-scale educational programs.
- Experience with simulation-based learning, competency assessment, and accreditation standards (e.g., ACEN, CCNE, CNEA) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to translate clinical and educational needs into product, program, or strategic recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret learner outcomes, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills with executive and customer audiences.
- Experience collaborating with product, marketing, sales, and educational stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%.
- Ability to lift and transport demonstration equipment and stand for extended periods during customer and industry events.
- Flexibility to collaborate across global time zones as business needs require.
Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000, eligible for 9% annual bonus Please note that this range does not include any other compensation or benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
