GENERAL SCOPE & SUMMARY

Perform regular analysis and review of GL transactions to ensure accuracy and proper recognition in compliance with the Company's accounting process.Utilize AI tools to handle standard financial operations while leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to scale accounting operations. This role uses AI for continuous ledger monitoring, variance analysis, automated reconciliations, and predictive forecasting to enhance the financial close cycle. Assist in reviewing and documenting technical accounting policies as needed. Heavily involved with external auditor interactions in completion of consolidated and statutory audits.

PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute the full-cycle month-end close by managing accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and intercompany eliminations.
  • Utilize AI-powered accounting software (e.g., AI reconciliation agents, NLP-driven ledger tools) to automate data entry, transaction matching, and anomaly detection.
  • Review AI prepared journal entries and monthly reconciliations, leveraging automated workflows and exception-handling features.
  • Leverage AI tools to perform preliminary variance analysis and generate instant financial insights for management review.
  • Review AI-flagged anomalies, missing receipts, and variance warnings to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to test, adopt, and optimize new generative AI and automation platforms.
  • Design and refine scalable accounting workflows by eliminating redundant manual processes.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Knowledge of general accounting practices in account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Willingness to gain exposure to more complex aspects of accounting issues and document as appropriate.
  • Ability to use professional concepts and company policies and procedures to solve a variety of problems and contribute to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives.
  • Strong ability to recognize problems, gather data, draw valid conclusions, and effectively communicate information to internal stakeholders. Ability to provide solutions to problems after analysis of the situation.
  • Experience with software/SaaS a plus.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 - 5years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years of audit experience in public accounting preferred
  • BS/BA in Accounting or similar experience
  • Experience with financial statement analysis and strong understanding of corporate finance and GAAP
  • Hands-on experience with AI and automation tools used to streamline accounting processes (e.g., AI-driven reconciliations, intelligent OCR, or financial language models)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle/Netsuite Application a plus.
  • CPA Preferred
