Process Engineer, Optimus, Data Collection

TheProcess Engineerserves as the technical subject matter expert for manufacturing processes within the Optimus Data Collection Hardware production line. These processes may include both automation-centered as well as manual; robotic pick-and-place, automated fastening, and end-of-line test/functional operations. This role is responsible for defining, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes that directly impact throughput, cost, and quality for Tesla's next-generation Optimus Data Collection hardware.

You'll work cross-functionally with Equipment, Controls, and Quality teams to ensure stable process capability, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement of the Optimus Data collection hardware production line.

• Develop deep technical expertise inthe hardware & processes driving Optimus data collection manufacturing
• Ensure each process consistently meetsSafety, Quality, and Performancerequirements
• Monitor and analyze processKPIs(Cycle Time, FPY, OEE, Scrap, and Downtime)
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost
• Define, document, and track critical process parameters usingStatistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical data analysis (ANOVA, DOE, etc.)
• Establish, maintain, and enforceProcess Control Plansaligned with PFMEA and Control Strategy
• Support launch of new products, model variants, or materials - collaborating closely with Design, NPI, and Manufacturing Engineering
• Own and deliver process improvement projects, including concept development, cost justification, and validation
• Manage procurement, budgets, and schedules for process changes, upgrades, or line retools

• Degree in Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or Industrial Engineering with at least 2 years of experience or equivalent experience
• Strong ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to develop innovative solutions for manufacturing challenges
• Proven experience providing clear technical guidance to cross-functional teams and external partners
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated project management skills, including cross-functional team leadership
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and vendors
• Strong people management and team leadership abilities
• ProficiencyinGD&T; experience with AutoCAD,Power Query, FANUC, PLCpreferred(but not mandatory)
• Proficiency in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA). Preferredexperience in SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar design software
