Job Summary

Working full time during summer and winter breaks and part time during the school year, the Tax Intern is responsible for supporting the Tax department within several tax categories, including federal, state, and international tax return preparation, provision work, planning, and project-based analysis.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities


    • Accurate preparation of federal proforma income tax returns to assist the tax team with federal consolidation and tax reporting
    • Accurate preparation of state income tax returns
    • Accurate preparation of international tax returns and supporting schedules
    • Preparation of annual and quarterly tax provisions including calculating book/tax differences.
    • Assists with providing information for income, property, and sales/use tax audits.
    • Assists in the maintenance and monitoring of tax-related accounts used in financial reporting.
    • Assists with income, property, payroll and sales/use tax questions from divisional finance teams and/or federal, state, and local governmental agencies.
    • Assists with projects, integrations and divestitures, tax incentives, and research.
    • Provide feedback and identification of opportunities for process improvement


Education and Experience Profile


    • Student status at an accredited university in a Bachelor's Degree program with an emphasis on finance, accounting, and/or tax preferred.


Required Skills


    • Ability to work with federal, state and local governmental agencies in a professional manner to resolve tax issues.
    • Ability to research income, payroll, property, and sales/use tax issues.
    • Ability to interpret financial data received from the divisional finance teams to ensure tax filings and information provided to the government authorities is accurate.
    • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
    • Professional oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, decision making and administrative skills.
    • Ability to scrutinize data and processes for best practices
    • Ability to manage, interpret, and report on highly fragmented, often voluminous data.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with tax return or research applications is a plus.


Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Due to hybrid schedule, applicant will need to be able to work independently, be accountable for hours worked, and communicate project status timely.
