About the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to drive new research and product development efforts in our Spatial Biology department. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in molecular biology, with strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with biomolecule imaging platforms. This role will involve designing, running, and troubleshooting experiments to help develop and optimize new assays in spatial transcriptomics. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across chemistry, computational biology, software, engineering, and microfluidics to bring new products to life. We're looking for someone with strong analytical skills, curiosity about new technologies, and enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and execute experiments to support development, optimization, and verification of novel assays for our spatial platform

  • Perform in-depth analysis and provide comprehensive documentation and presentation to drive decision

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Computational Biology, Software, Microfluidics, Operation and Assay Productization.

  • Contribute to protocol development and support protocol transfer to customer facing documentation.

To be successful in this role, You need:

  • PhD in Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry or related field.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in situ hybridization, imaging and spatial techniques

  • Proven ability to design novel molecular biology assay schemes, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications or published patents.

  • Strong analytical skills: fluency in R, Python or AI-aided coding to perform ad-hoc analysis.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.

  • Desire to build game-changing technologies and impact the world of life science research.



Additional desired Skills:

  • Experience with the 10x Genomics Xenium platform is a plus.

  • Skills in image analysis are a plus.

Below is the base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one's skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company's total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x's equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program. During the hiring process, your 10x recruiter can share more about the Company's total compensation package.

$123,100-$166,500 USD
