Key Responsibilites:

  • You will play a key role in developing a robust outpatient pulmonary practice, while supporting inpatient services through pulmonary consults and ICU-based consultative care.

  • Hybrid role with a mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient consult service

  • Opportunity to shape and grow a community pulmonary program

  • Build and grow a comprehensive outpatient pulmonary clinic alongside physician partner

  • Evaluate and manage a broad range of pulmonary conditions

  • Develop referral relationships with primary care and specialty providers

  • Partner in initiatives with BHMG Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep leadership on referral pathways for subspecialty referrals

  • Ensure timely access and high patient satisfaction

  • Anticipate up to 7-8 outpatient sessions weekly, depending on inpatient needs and outpatient sick visit demand

Inpatient Pulmonary and ICU Consultative Care:

  • Provide inpatient pulmonary consultations for hospitalized patients

  • Deliver ICU consultative services, including patients with respiratory failure and those requiring mechanical ventilation

  • Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, and other specialists in multidisciplinary care

  • Develop and participate in shared billing model

Clinical Excellence and Operations

  • Maintain high standards of evidence-based, patient-centered care

  • Participate in call coverage as required. You will be expected to cover at least one with a goal of no more than two weekends per month. You will be expected to evaluate new pulmonary consults and newly mechanically ventilated patients in person on the weekends; phone coverage is permissible at your discretion and as reflected in the incentive structure.

  • Contribute to clinical protocols, pathways, and program development

  • Engage in quality improvement and institutional initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree from an accredited advanced practice program. Must be certified by the ANCC or AANP. Current licensure as a nurse practitioner in the State of Rhode Island is required.

  • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Pay Range:

$127,504.00-$161,782.40
