McLane Company is seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Commercial Finance Analyst to help shape customer strategy, pricing decisions, and long-term profitability across one of the nation's largest supply chain organizations. This role combines financial analysis, commercial insight, and strategic partnership to support critical business decisions that directly impact customer growth and financial performance.

As a Commercial Finance Analyst, you'll collaborate with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders to evaluate opportunities, improve profitability, optimize pricing strategies, and provide the financial intelligence needed to drive sustainable business results. This position is based in Temple, Texas. Candidates should reside within a 50-minute commute of the Temple area to support on-site collaboration and business needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the financial partner for assigned customer segments and key accounts, providing profitability analysis, pricing support, and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain financial models that support pricing decisions, forecasting, customer evaluations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze customer profitability, revenue, cost of goods sold, pricing, volume, and product mix to identify opportunities for growth and margin improvement.
  • Evaluate commercial proposals, business opportunities, contract amendments, and customer economics to support informed decision-making.
  • Monitor customer and contract performance by comparing actual results to forecasts, budgets, and profitability targets.
  • Investigate performance variances, identify key business drivers, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess the financial impact of pricing, operational, and commercial decisions.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams throughout the customer lifecycle, from opportunity assessment through implementation and ongoing performance management.
  • Support pricing strategy development and ensure accurate implementation of contractual pricing, fees, and commercial terms.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve visibility into business performance and support strategic planning.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, customer developments, and market dynamics to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives that increase reporting efficiency, data quality, automation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Support the ongoing enhancement, testing, and implementation of pricing tools, reporting systems, and financial models.

What We're Looking For:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in Commercial Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Pricing, Deal Desk, Financial Analysis, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience supporting financial modeling, profitability analysis, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, or strategic business analysis.
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing complex financial analysis preferred.
  • Experience within supply chain, distribution, logistics, consumer products, wholesale, or related industries is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and profitability analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Performance Management, Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI, or similar analytical platforms preferred.
  • Ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
  • Strong business partnership skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and influence decision-making.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on broader business objectives.
