What you'll be doing...

We are looking for a dynamic, systems-driven Design Director to drive the tactical execution and implementation of the overall visual identity for the Verizon brand. This isn't a role for a passive overseer; it's for a master practitioner and systems builder who thrives in the day-to-day crafting of robust design languages and possesses the graphic design genius to execute them flawlessly.

In this role, you won't just tolerate GenAI; you will champion it to supercharge our creative development pipeline. We leverage advanced AI tools to accelerate brainstorming, execute rapid visual prototyping, and smash through routine generation bottlenecks. We expect you to treat AI as an expansive, collaborative canvas-using it to test the boundaries of "what if" at lightning speed, freeing up your team to focus on what matters most: deeply human, authentic, and jaw-dropping storytelling.

Responsibilities include:

• Execute & Scale the Visual Identity: Drive the day-to-day tactical execution and expression of the overall Verizon visual identity, ensuring world-class design consistency and technical excellence across every consumer touchpoint.

• Build Design Systems & Toolkits: Get hands-on in the creation and rollout of comprehensive brand design systems, asset libraries, and scalable toolkits that enable internal and external teams to build unified assets efficiently.

• Deploy Campaign Graphic Identities: Collaborate closely with campaign creative teams to build out and scale bespoke graphic identities for high-profile brand and integrated Above-The-Line (ATL) campaigns, seamlessly operationalizing big conceptual ideas.

• Collaborate & Guide: Partner with the Sr. Design Director to mentor, guide, and elevate one dedicated Graphic Designer, taking an active role in their technical development and protecting the integrity of their craft.

• Push Brand Boundaries: Honor the foundational principles of the Verizon brand while constantly finding fresh, daring ways to evolve its visual identity through a modern, sophisticated design lens.

• Articulate Your Vision: Confidently present, defend, and articulate design executions, visual mechanics, and systematic choices to internal creative leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

Even better if you have:

• Seven or more years of experience within top-tier design studios, advertising agencies, or world-class in-house creative teams, with a standout portfolio showcasing tactical execution of comprehensive brand design systems and graphic design.

• Proven experience executing, maintaining, and scaling brand systems for a major Fortune 100 brand or large-scale enterprise. You know how to build and work within flexible guidelines that allow a massive organization to move with agility.

• A deep, uncompromising passion for typography, layout, photography, color theory, and graphic design in general. You possess an elite technical eye for detail and understand the logic required to build scalable design mechanics.

• Extensive hands-on experience building out detailed brand books, design toolkits, mechanicals, and style guides that translate seamlessly across print, digital, motion, and experiential platforms.

• You are zero-ego, highly collaborative, deeply analytical about design systems, and invested in pushing the technical execution of the work forward.
