As a recognized leader in the industry, Global currently has an immediate career opportunity at our Carrollton TX distribution center. The successful candidate will Assists the warehouse manager in the efforts of the warehouse personnel to receive and ship all orders in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain warehouse (interior and exterior). Maintain inventory accuracy and equipment. Process all paperwork and accurately account for all products received. Advise Warehouse Manager/General Manager of all logistic issues. Supervises warehouse staff. Determine how to ship products, receiving, stocking, customer service parts, warranty work, and service calls. Move closeout merchandise. Schedule trucks. Negotiate truck freight quotes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Unloading, sorting, and staging products from inbound trucks and containers both manually and with power industrial trucks (PIT).
  • Accurately pull products manually or with PIT. Utilizing the RF scanning system, sorting, staging, and preparing orders for Will Call pick-ups and shipments. Manually pull specialized, non-RF scanner, products as needed (sample chairs, parts, literature, etc.) for shipments.
  • Process picks and quality check shipments and Will Call shipments.
  • Prepare, schedule, and execute customer pickups for Will Call orders.
  • Inform Warehouse Management of shortages, damage to incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Receiving and scheduling pick up - return authorizations.
  • Sorting and placing stock products on racks, shelves or in bins according to the assigned Bin location.
  • Lead and train team assembly of products for showroom, samples, and trade shows.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 50-80 lbs., occasionally team-lift and/or team move objects that weigh 80-150 lbs.
  • Complete, maintain daily, weekly maintenance of warehouse equipment.
  • Communicate any issues with specific shipping, delivery, packaging and tagging requirements to Customer Care, Warehouse Manager or General Manager.
  • Respond to both internal and external customer request in a timely manner.
  • Lead team to complete work accurately, timely and with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Maintain a safe and neat work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; sweep, dust, and mop; always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness.
  • Safely operate all warehouse PIT including forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, clamp trucks and pallet jacks.
  • Lead and train team on proper use of warehouse tools and equipment.
  • Wear all proper safety equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Follow all safety guidelines per company policies and guidelines.
  • Assist Warehouse Management with leading warehouse staff.
  • Meet regularly with Warehouse Management.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in logistics or warehouse management is a plus.
  • 5+ years previous warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a lead role.
  • 1-2 years of previous warehouse leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, sales personnel, and internal staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Certified forklift operator preferred and proficiency with other standard warehouse equipment.
  • Strong computer knowledge.
  • Advanced RF scanner knowledge.
  • Ability to pass PIT certifications provided by Global.
  • Dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to work in extreme hot and/or cold weather conditions.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, with occasional sitting. The role requires frequent use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, and the ability to talk and hear. The employee will frequently climb or balance and may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The position involves regularly lifting and/or moving objects weighing 50-80 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving objects weighing between 80-150 pounds.

The work environment typically has a moderate noise level. The employee may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles, outdoors in varying weather conditions, and in extreme heat.

Actual base pay offered will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
