Job Summary:
1 Support Services is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic III - Quality Assurance (APG) to primarily perform inspections,
evaluations, and compliance validations on all aspects of aircraft general maintenance performed on assigned aircraft and
equipment in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), M1 policy, DAFI 21-101 and applicable supplements,
technical data, and industry standards.
This position serves as a Quality Assurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Aircraft General (APG) maintenance, with
emphasis on aircraft systems, servicing, inspections, launch and recovery, ground handling, forms and documentation, and
associated flight-line and hangar maintenance activities.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Ensures all services listed in the Performance Work Statement (PWS) are performed in a satisfactory manner and in accordance
with applicable technical data, contractual requirements, and established quality standards.
* Evaluates quality, environmental, safety, and health processes to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable
regulations.
* Inspects and evaluates aircraft, aircraft systems and components, powered and non-powered ground equipment, associated
support equipment, tools, equipment, and maintenance activities for conformity to established standards and written guidance.
* Performs Quality Assurance inspections and evaluations of APG maintenance activities, including scheduled and unscheduled
maintenance, aircraft servicing, launch and recovery, ground handling, aircraft inspections, configuration control, maintenance
documentation, and other aircraft general maintenance functions.
* Reads and interprets aircraft maintenance manuals, technical orders, service bulletins, engineering data, inspection requirements,
and other applicable technical data to determine the quality, completeness, and serviceability of maintenance and repairs.
* Specifies areas to be inspected, including scheduled and unscheduled inspections, and assists in determining inspection frequency
based on contractual requirements, maintenance trends, risk, and management direction.
* Communicates deficiencies to process owners and appropriate management personnel; maintains Quality Control files and
documents the results of inspections, evaluations, and audits.
* Investigates and reports incidents, accidents, maintenance discrepancies, and other quality-related matters within the scope of the
contract.
* Performs internal and external quality audits and assists in identifying root causes, corrective actions, and opportunities for
process improvement.
* Monitors maintenance practices to ensure compliance with applicable technical data, maintenance procedures, tool control,
Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, aircraft forms and documentation requirements, and established safety practices.
* Trains and assists other Quality Assurance inspectors within designated Subject Matter Expert areas and provides technical
guidance to lower-level technicians as required.
* Obtains and maintains special certifications as directed by management.
* Reviews and completes forms and documentation pertinent to aircraft or equipment maintenance, enters maintenance actions into
the applicable Maintenance Information System (MIS), and makes entries in forms, logs, records, or electronic equivalents as
required.
* Monitors and may lead teams performing complex aircraft inspections and maintenance evaluations.
* May assist with writing or initiating engineering technical assistance requests. Strict adherence to aircraft technical data is
required.
* May be required to perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft and equipment maintenance, both on and off equipment, on
assigned aircraft and equipment in accordance with the PWS, Company policy, DAFI 21-101 and applicable supplements, technical
data, and industry standards.
* May be required to perform aircraft and equipment maintenance on other assigned MDS aircraft in a highly cross-utilized/cross-
trained environment.
* May be required to perform at a high level of competency in one or more of the following areas: APG, repair and reclamation,
egress, electro/environmental, wheel and tire, structures, composite repair, propulsion, fuels, non-powered AGE, armament,
munitions, non-destructive inspection (NDI), and pneudraulics.
* May be required to perform transient aircraft support, CDDAR team member or chief duties, Phase inspection dock team member
or chief duties, engine run certifier duties, Hydrazine response, and Wheel & Tire functions.

* May be required to be trained on bomb lift use to support loading aircraft with various system pods, pylons, or munitions.
* Completes all assignments and tasks as directed by Managers, Supervisors, Expediters, Leads, and other authorized personnel.
* Performs general housekeeping and facility clean-up duties assigned to the organization in accordance with the PWS.
Requirements may include sweeping, mopping, use of floor-cleaning equipment, weed removal, and related activities.
* May be required to travel for training, maintenance recovery, or to assist other personnel and work centers as directed.
* Performs vehicle inspections, cleaning, and wash duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* High School diploma or GED is required.
* Minimum of eight years of experience performing Aircraft General (APG), Crew Chief, Tactical Aircraft Maintenance, or
equivalent aircraft maintenance duties in a military environment is required.
* Attainment of an Air Force 7-skill level in an applicable Aircraft Maintenance specialty, or equivalent military
qualification and experience, is required.
* Minimum of two years of aircraft maintenance Quality Assurance experience is required.
* Extensive working knowledge of aircraft general maintenance practices, aircraft systems, scheduled and unscheduled inspections,
servicing, launch and recovery procedures, ground handling, aircraft forms and documentation, and flight-line maintenance
operations is required.
* Working knowledge of principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives, data reporting,
and use of applicable technical data is mandatory.
* Knowledge of Air Force maintenance, supply, and efficiency reporting procedures is mandatory.
* Knowledge of aircraft forms, maintenance documentation, inspection requirements, and Maintenance Information Systems is
required.
* Knowledge of the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
* Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
* Must be able to work day shift, night shift, weekend duty, and travel as part of a maintenance recovery team as required.
* Must interact with customers and Company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
* Must be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively under stressful conditions and demanding timelines while
maintaining a professional and non-confrontational attitude.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance level mandated by the government customer.
* Must possess a current, valid U.S. Driver's License.
* May be required to obtain and maintain a government driver's license. If Controlled Movement Area (CMA) access is required,
individuals must pass a color vision test.
* Must be able to move about aircraft hangars, maintenance facilities, and aircraft ramps within close proximity to operating
equipment and aircraft.
* Must have a working knowledge of computers, including the ability to input and extract data, and basic computer software
programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* May be required to obtain and maintain aircraft and/or equipment Red X, IPI, ER, engine run, taxi, or other certifications as
required.
* Position requires compliance with unique commuting and travel requirements.
Working Conditions:
* Environment ranges from office to hangar and flight line and requires extensive sitting, climbing, standing, stooping, bending,
pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
* Must be physically capable of performing all assigned duties. Minimum physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 35
pounds.
* Must be able and willing to meet OSHA, DCMA or additional industrial requirements including, hearing test, vision test to include
color vision, respirator fit test and blood draw etc. to ensure workplace safety standard compliance.
* May be subjected to no-notice drug testing surveillance per Company policy or Customer's direction to ensure a drug-free work
environment.
