As a Market Evaluation Analyst II, you will perform analysis and economic studies focused on the performance, efficiency, behaviors, and overall impact of MISO's wholesale electricity markets. You will evaluate market outcomes and operational events, use data to identify potential issues within MISO's markets and systems, and turn complex information into meaningful insights. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to market design improvements and analytical projects that can positively impact MISO's stakeholders and, ultimately, the end-use customers we serve. In this role, you'll have an opportunity to help shape how MISO responds to rapidly growing large-load demand while strengthening the connection between where the grid is headed and what it needs to reliably deliver today. The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $71,000-$96,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience. Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. Bachelors of Economics (required)
Bachelors of Data Science (required) Experience
Experience within the energy industry, particularly with a Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) or Market Participant (preferred)
Previous experience working within deregulated wholesale electricity markets or the utility industry (preferred) Experience in areas such as energy market forecasting and analysis, power system analysis and operations, software development, data science, statistical or econometric analysis, or wholesale market design (preferred) Experience developing metrics, visualizations, and reports, including automating reporting processes and creating alerts to identify meaningful changes or trends (required) Strong experience with data analysis tools and programming languages such as R, EViews, SAS, Python, VBA, Power BI, and Azure (required) 2 years: Relevant professional experience (required) Equal Opportunity Employer
