Advanced Practice Provider: Gynecologic Oncology - Inpatient/Outpatient

Join a Growing Gynecologic Oncology Program

UW Health Northern Illinois is seeking an exceptional Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA/First Assist) to join our expanding Gynecologic Oncology program at the UW Health Carbone Cancer Center in Rockford, Illinois.

This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of a growing, academically affiliated gynecologic oncology service dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate cancer care to women throughout northern Illinois. You will work alongside a fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while enjoying opportunities for professional growth and procedural experience.

This position offers a primarily outpatient practice with consultative inpatient responsibilities and an active surgical role as first assist, including robotic surgery.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive ambulatory care for patients with gynecologic malignancies

  • Participate in consultative inpatient care and postoperative management

  • Serve as first assist in the operating room, including robotic-assisted gynecologic procedures

  • Perform inpatient rounding as needed in collaboration with Medical Oncology, General Surgery, Palliative Care, and General Gynecology

  • Participate in a shared 1:4 call schedule with additional call and weekend compensation

  • Care for patients across a 12-county regional referral network serving more than 500,000 people

Comprehensive Clinical Support

You'll join a highly collaborative multidisciplinary cancer program that includes:

  • One board-certified, fellowship-trained physician

  • One dedicated Advanced Practice Provider

  • One Gynecologic Oncology Clinical RN

  • Two disease-specific RN Navigators

  • Support from eight Medical Oncologists and five Radiation Oncologists

  • Comprehensive support services within a state-of-the-art cancer center

  • Onsite PET, CT, and MRI imaging

  • A 45-chair infusion center staffed by experienced oncology nurses

  • Quaternary collaboration with the University of Wisconsin Division of Gynecologic Oncology

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with RNFA/First assist certification

  • Eligible for Illinois licensure and DEA registration (or ability to obtain upon hire)

  • Previous experience in oncology, gynecology, surgery, or a related specialty strongly preferred

  • Strong procedural and surgical assisting

  • Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills

  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care

Compensation and Benefits

UW Health Northern Illinois offers a highly competitive compensation package. Benefits include:

  • Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)

    • $128,624 to $141,774
