Piano Technician I

The School of Music is looking for a Piano Technician to join us who will be responsible for maintaining and tuning the School's piano inventory under the supervision of the department head. Main duties include:

• Weekly maintenance of assigned classroom pianos including tuning, voicing, and action adjustments.
  
• Regular maintenance of practice room pianos including tuning, voicing, and action adjustments.
  
• Schedule tuning and maintenance of teaching studio pianos as directed by the department head.
  
• Maintenance of artist benches, string replacements, case repairs, action parts replacement, etc.
  
• Schedule action parts replacement and subsequent regulation and hammer voicing to provide the highest level of musical performance possible.
  
• Recording all work performed in inventory database.

• Regular maintenance of practice room pianos including tuning, voicing, and regulation.
• Maintenance hammer filing and voicing, action repair and regulation as needed.
• Misc, repairs such as string replacement, case repair, artist bench maintenance, etc.
• Schedule action parts replacement and subsequent regulation and hammer voicing to provide the highest level of musical performance possible.
• Record all work performed in inventory database.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

• Basic knowledge of tuning, and minor action regulation necessary.
• Physical requirements: position involves sitting or standing in various ways to effectively work on the instruments.
• Lifting up to 50lbs independently and on occasion moving/transporting +100lbs with a partner or team (moving instruments around the building)
