Position Summary

**This is a temporary position**

The UNM Arcoiris Center and UNM Division for Change and Empowerment (DiCE) are seeking a motivated, dynamic, detail-oriented individual to join the team as [Temporary] Administrative Assistant 2. The successful candidate will coordinate, oversee and/or perform a wide variety of administrative support activities on behalf of the Arcoiris Center and DiCE.

* Serves as primary point of operational and administrative contact for internal and external constituencies. Assists in the supervision of student staff including time entry.

* Provides office and staff support services, and participates in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special projects and/or events. May serve on a variety of committees in a support capacity.

* Coordinates maintenance of Arcoiris Center calendar, as well as assists Arcoiris Center leadership with scheduling, time permitting.

* Plans, coordinates, and revises written communications, including material for publication in newsletters, newspapers, magazines, or websites.

* Monitors student staff time and enters time sheets for Arcoiris Center, working with financial aid and student employment to verify work-study status.

* Holds secondary PCard for office to be used to coordinate travel and purchases for office as needed.

* Takes minutes at Arcoiris Center-led meetings and prepare summaries for team.

* Works with the team to plan and deliver Arcoiris Center and DiCE events.

Conditions of Employment
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

  • Strong administrative, office management, and event planning skills
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices to assist those either in crisis or seeking confidential advocacy
