Job Title: Network Refresh SME Location(s): Seattle, WA Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Network Refresh SME with strong expertise in enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure, Cisco networking, network security, high availability, and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). The resource will support network modernization, infrastructure refresh, hardening, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities under the general direction of the customer. Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess existing LAN/WAN architecture, including network topology, performance, capacity, and potential risks.
- Develop network upgrade and refresh plans, including scalable IPv4/IPv6 addressing schemes, subnetting, and VLAN strategies.
- Design and implement network redundancy and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and minimize service disruption.
- Install, configure, and deploy network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networking equipment.
- Configure and validate routing failover, device clustering, and other redundancy protocols.
- Perform firewall hardening, including rule optimization, access controls, and implementation of security best practices.
- Implement network segmentation using VLANs, ACLs, and firewall-based controls to improve security and traffic isolation.
- Perform network hardening in accordance with established GCS security policies and standards.
- Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and findings resulting from penetration testing (PEN Tests) and Risk Assessment and Assurance Services (RAAS) activities.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, IP address documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.
- Conduct connectivity, performance, failover, and security compliance testing following network changes and deployments.
- Monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and support shipside CUCM telephony environments, including HAL/SBN infrastructure.
- Engage and coordinate with required stakeholders, including third-party vendors and service providers, during complex troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Provide technical documentation, status reporting, knowledge transfer, and operational support to ensure network readiness.
- Validate network and communications infrastructure following refresh activities and ensure successful transition to operational support.
