POSITION SUMMARY : The HVAC Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership for CPG's mission critical mechanical services team. This role oversees the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation of HVAC systems supporting critical facilities and data center environments. The HVAC Supervisor serves as a technical leader and field supervisor, ensuring contract compliance, workforce readiness, job planning, customer satisfaction, and adherence to applicable safety standards, codes, and company procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


  • Provide effective oversight, leadership, and administration of safety processes, procedures, and field work practices.
  • Lead, train, influence, and motivate HVAC technicians while supporting the continued development of team competency and technical capability.
  • Perform and oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, routine repairs, and emergency repairs on mission critical HVAC systems without supervision.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding the installation, service, maintenance, and operation of data center mechanical equipment.
  • Support HVAC equipment including, but not limited to, air- and water-cooled reciprocating chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers and unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, water pumps, AHUs, FCUs, fans, and air distribution systems.
  • Maintain, upgrade, and back up Building Automation Software as required, including systems using pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls.
  • Travel to customer sites to manage HVAC service, installation, replacement, maintenance, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Plan and maintain work systems, procedures, and policies that enable safe, efficient, and high-quality performance by CPG technicians.
  • Coordinate labor, logistics, materials, equipment readiness, and job planning with Project and Contract Managers to mitigate delays and support successful project execution.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual commitments, applicable federal, state, and local rules, codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain high-quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, resolving service issues, identifying trends, and recommending system improvements.
  • Communicate job expectations, delegate tasks, set deadlines, review and approve weekly timesheets, and support staff management activities.
  • Perform site walks and assist with estimating potential new work.
  • Respond to after-hours calls and perform on-call after-hour assignments as required.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including expected job-site presence of approximately 50 to 75 percent of the time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
  • Successful completion of basic air conditioning theory coursework or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of proper use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
  • Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and Variable Frequency Drive controls.
  • Ability to train, influence, and motivate team members while communicating clear job expectations.
  • Experience writing pre-job briefs, procedures, service documentation, and technical reports.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong customer relations skills, and the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Experience in critical facilities including federal facilities, power generation plants, and data centers preferred.
  • Project leadership experience, including site walks, estimating, job planning, and coordination with Project or Contract Managers preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain US Passport or have active passport.



Computer Skills


  • Microsoft office (must be proficient in Excel and Word)
  • NetSuite preferred but not required



Education/Experience


  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams preferred.
  • Experience maintaining, upgrading, and backing up Building Automation Software as required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience with people management



Certificates and Licenses


  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification required.
  • Current/active Arizona HVAC/R license preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Must be able to pass applicable government or client background checks and gain access to required facilities.
  • Must have a clear and valid driver's license.



Supervisory Responsibilities


  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, communicating expectations, and supporting team performance.
